Cusco City Tour

Explore Cusco’s vibrant history on this half day journey. This incredible City combines both the Inca and the Spanish culture.

Our journey will include a visit to the main archaeological sites, including the Cathedral on Main Square (Plaza de Armas), The Temple of the Sun in the city center, as well as the four main ruins on the outskirts of Cusco.

Duration – 1pm to 6pm

Pick up from your hotel/hostel with private transportation at around 1pm.

Our first stop will be the Cusco’s Plaza de Armas where we visit the famous Cathedral. After exploring this sacred building the entire group will head down to the Q’oricancha, Temple of the Sun.

At Q’oricancha you get to explore the syncretism between the Inca Culture and Catholicism. The Inka construction here is pretty amazing, this building used to be the key spiritual center of the Inkas. The Temple of the Sun also used to be the center from where all Inca Trails started. The highlight of the Temple is a high altar made completely out of bronze.

After the visit to the Temple we will walk down to Avenida del Sol where our private transportation is waiting for us. Driving up to the majestic archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, your guide will take you on a walk through the place. You explore the incredible structures of these buildings, some of these monoliths weighing as much as 200 tons.

Our journey is continuing up the road to visit Qenqo, a beautiful small temple with sacrificial underground altars.

The next stop is Pucapukara a small circular fortress.

And the final stop, Tambomachay, a water temple with its impressive water fountains. It was thought to be used by the Inka’s for bathing.

We’ll then drive back down to Cusco where the tour ends and we drop you off at your hotel/hostel.
